According to sources the U.S. gardening industry revenue is estimated at $133 billion in 2024, while the commercial film industry had a revenue of $81 billion in 2023. That means gardening is now a bigger industry than Hollywood by more than $50 billion!

Gardening Statistics at a Glance

As you can see, the gardening industry is much more than just planting flowers and vegetables. It also includes landscaping services, lawn care products, gardening equipment, and online sales of gardening goods. The gardening industry is booming, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, which created 18.3 million new gardeners, most of whom are millennials.
